Have you passed the Transport Canada Advanced Operations exam? The next step toward your Advanced Operations pilot certificate is completing an in-person flight review with a qualified RPAS flight reviewer.
What's Included
Your flight review includes both ground-based and practical flight assessment, including:
- Operational planning and preparation
- Site survey
- Pre-flight procedures
- Required flight exercises
- Aircraft control and scanning
- Emergency procedures
- Assessment of regulatory and aeronautical knowledge
- Post-flight debrief
The flight review is an evaluation, not a training flight. Transport Canada's requirements state that the reviewer evaluates the candidate's knowledge and skills and must not train or demonstrate the required exercises during the assessment
Before Your Flight Review
You must:
- Have successfully passed the Transport Canada Advanced Operations exam
- Have your exam reference number
- Bring your registered RPAS
- Bring the required equipment and documentation
- Be able to safely conduct the review at the agreed location
The flight review is conducted in person, with the candidate and reviewer physically present at the agreed location.
